The Buffalo Bills opened training camp on Sunday night at St, John Fisher College before a crowd of nearlyy 3,500. Optimism is the operative work this camp. The team features a rookie head coach in Doug Marrone, a new g-m in Doug Whaley. Russ Brandon is in control calling the shots from One Bills Drive and a rookie qb in E.J. Manuel.
The Bills have been selling hope for the last 13 years, but this year its feels legit for all the reasons I just mentioned. This hope really surrounds around Manuel, the team's franchise quarterback, who was the only signal caller selected in the first round of the draft.
The competition between Kevin Kolb and Manuel will highlight camp until the Bills head back to Buffalo on August 21st.
Marrone declined to say who would start the first preseason game August 11th vs the Colts. but he did put a date on when he would like to choose his regular season starter.
All I can say is Manuel will be the starting qb at some point in 2013. I hope its week one against the Patriots.
