The Buffalo Sabres have realized this offseason they need to beef up defensively. On Sunday they reacquired Henrik Tallinder from New Jersey in exchange for Riley Boychuk.
The 34-year old Tallinder spent the last three years with the Devils after spending parts of eight seasons with the Sabres. He entered the NHL as a second-round draft pick of the Sabres in 1997 and spent parts of eight season with the team.Boychuk was a seventh-round pick of Buffalo in 2010.
Sabres seem intent on moving goaltender Ryan Miller but its not clear when that will happen either this summer or at trade deadline next season.
Dwight Howard made the Houston Rockets instant contenders for the NBA Championship after agreeing to a four-year $88 million deal. Could Howard not handle the bright lights of LA? Perhaps. The long and short of it is the Lakers roster is old and the team belongs to Kobe Bryant. Howard is the best rebounder and defender in the game, he goes a much more talented team that features a hall of famer in coach Kevin McHale, who possessed some of the games best all-time low post best moves. At 27 years old its time for Howard to start winning rings.
And finally, major kudos to my buddies Plow, Pat McMahon and Dan Moriarty. On Saturday, Pat, Dan and I shoveled 50-plus wheel barrells of dirt in repairing my lawn. Plow along with wife repaired the pavers that I had ruined with a bobcat. We had a great time despite the hot teamps.
I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by good people. If I had not screwed up my yard, we never could of experienced the seven hours we spent together. I told my wife everything happens for a reaason.
