Maybe the Knicks were basking in their win Friday night in Boston, but on Sunday versus Indiana the Knicks were outworked in losing 102-95. The Pacers pushed the Knicks around in the Garden.
The Pacers during the regular season allowed the second-fewest points per game and the lowest field goal percentage. The Knicks finesse offense never stood a chance as the game went on.
Carmello Anthony scored 15 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, but the game was lost in the third quarter with him on the bench for the last 7:48 in fould trouble.
Pacers center Roy Hibbert was a man amongst boys. The 7'2 Georgetown product scored 14 points while dominating Tyson Chandler.
JR Smith was terrible again. He did finish with 17 points but was 4 of 15 from the floor. Raymond Felton addded 18. New York could get back Amare Stoudemire back for game 3 on Saturday along with Steve Novalk. Both are out with injuries.
The Knicks have been a team all year that has relied on the 3-pointer. Here's the issue, Indiana led the league in defending the 3-point shot. On Sunday they held the Knicks to 19 attempts while sinking more 8-7.
