What streak is currently more impressive the Miami Heat's or the Chicago Blackhawks? The Blackhawks have a record 24 games to start the season without a regulation loss while the Heat have won 16 straight.
Lebron James' mvp season continued finished with 26 points in leading Miami to a 97-96 win over Orlando Wednesday night
The Heat’s victory extended its winning streak to 16, moving it into a tie with seven other teams for 18th on the all-time list of longest regular-season winning streaks. It was the Heat's first one-point win of the season and 12th in a row at home. The Heat also tied the 1964-65 Boston Celtics for longest winning streaks by a defending NBA champion. The Heat are heavy favorites to repeat as champions.
Also Wednesday night the Blackhawks extended their record points streak to begin a season with a 3-2 victory over Colorado. Chicago has gone 24 games with a point and without a regulation loss to start the season, or half the lockout-shortened 48-game season. Amazing!
The Blackhawks (21-0-3) have won a team-record 11 straight games. The 1979-80 Flyers' hold the record of 35 games in a row. For the record the Blackhawks payroll is two million dollars less than Sabres. And their G-M Stan Bowman, the son of former Sabres head coach Scotty Bowman, is currently in his 12th season with the Blackhawks and his third as Vice President/General Manager
I think its great for the NHL that Chicago is be mentioned along side the Heat.
