Syracuse bounced back from two consecutive losses with a 63-47 victory over No. 25 Notre Dame. The 9th ranked Orange held Notre Dame to 6-for-20 shooting from 3-point range. The Irish lead the Big East in 3-point shooting.
Once again C.J. Fair played 40 minutes and once again he played very well. Fair played the entire game for the fifth straight game., the lefthander led Syracuse with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Fair leads the Big East in minutes played. He’s averaging 39.3 minutes per game in conference play.
While Michael-Carter Williams and Brandon Triche combined for 12 points, Jeremi Grant (14) and Rakeem Christmas (12) were fantastic combining for 26 points.
Syracuse has won a school-record 36 straight games at the Carrier Dome, the longest active streak in Division I. The Orange host St. John's this sunday. Tip-off is 3:00.
Kudos to RIT product Chris Tanev, who scored his first NHL goal Monday night in Vancouver's 3-2 win over Edmonton. Tanev played his 63rd NHL game with the Cannucks.
And finally, the dust has only just settled on Super Bowl 47, and we are already have odds for Superbowl 48 at MetLife Stadium. The team that has already opened up this next season as the favorites to win the Super Bowl is the Denver Broncos at 7-1. The 49ers are also 7-1.
The Ravens are 12-1 to repeat. The Bills are 100-1. Only Jacksonville and Oakland are longer shots at 150-1
