The Oakland Raiders entered Super Bowl 37 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a four point favorite. They featured the NFL's MVP quarterback Rich Gannon. The Raiders were hammered by the Bucs losing 48-21.

   Over the weekend Hall Of Fame finalist Tim Brown stated on NFL Radio that former Raiders coach Bill Callahan “sabotaged” the Raiders that day back in 2003.  

    Brown said the Callahan changed the game plan on Friday before the game. He claims Callahan and Bucs coach Jon Gruden were good friends. Brown added that Callahan hated the Raiders, and hated owner Al Davis. 

   Center Barrett Robbins went awol the night before the game. Gannon threw five picks in the game, three returned for touchdowns.

   On Tuesday, Callahan, currently the Cowboys’ offensive line coach/offensive coordinator, released a statement of his own from Alabama, where he is working with the Cowboys coaching staff for the Senior Bowl. I am shocked, saddened and outraged by Tim Brown's allegations and Jerry Rice's support of those allegations,"  "To leave no doubt, I categorically and unequivocally deny the sum and substance of their allegation. To suggest otherwise, especially at this time when it involves the Super Bowl, is ludicrous and defamatory."

 For the record, the Bucs defense ranked 5th overall against the run. The Raiders were missing Rochester's Roland Williams,  the team's  main blocking tight end. He was sidelined with injury.

  The question I have is why Brown waited 10 years to make this accusation. There is nothing worse in sports than fixing a game. Perhaps Davis ordered the change. He was know for changing game plans on Fridays.
