Last night Alabama  scored on drives of 82, 61 and 80 yards against the top-ranked and undefeated Irish in its first three drives of the game. They drove 71-yards and scored with 31 seconds left in the half to take a dominating 28-0 lead and never looked back.  Complete domination.  In the BCS era, AJ McCarron became the first qb to repeat as a champion.. McCarron tossed four td passes and finished with 264 yards.

Alabama football has become a dynasty under Nick Saban. This could go down as the top era in Crimson Tide era, despite Paul "Bear" Bryant winning six national titles.

  Saban has guided Alabam to back-to-back championship and their third in the last four years.  The school has won more titles than any other school.

   Notre Dame did  wake up the echoes this season. Going unbeaten and playing for their first national title since 1988, but they were overmatched, and outclassed in Monday night's game.  Notre Dame was the first team to reach the BCS title game after starting the season unranked.

    Monday night marked a matchup of stories programs. Notre Dame has Knute Rockne, Ara Parseghian, Dan Devine, Lou Holtz and now Brian Kelly, who in his third year as head coach has ND back on the college football landscape. The Fighting Irish have now lost 11 of their past 13 bowl games, including two in a row.

   Saban, who won his first BCS title in 2003 while at LSU, becomes the fourth coach at college football’s top level to win four championships. He joins Alabama’s Bear Bryant (6), Notre Dame’s Frank Leahy (4) and USC’s John McKay (4).

    Alabama now has a record 34 bowl victories and gives theSEC  its seventh straight BCS title.
