The Buffalo Bills for the second time this season squandered a lead in the closing seconds of the 4th quarter at home. On Sunday Sam Bradford's 13-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Gibson with 48 seconds remaining lifted St. Louis Rams to a a 15-12 victory over the Bills Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Bradford engineered a 14-play 84-yard drive.

The Bills controlled this game for nearly three and a half quarters, but unable to finish. This has been a common them for the last three years under Chan Gailey. Gailey was scared to attempt a 52-yard field goal despite his kicker hitting a 50-yard kick in worse conditions last week. So rather than go for it on a 4th and seven from the Rams 34 yard line, he punts. C.J. carries the football only seven times? I understand the offensive line was having its issues, but there are no excuses for Spiller's lack of touches. Fred Jackson carried it 9 times for 14 yards.

Bills safety George Wilson dropped two potential game-clinching interceptions on the Rams' final scoring drive.

Despite two trips into the red zone in the first half, the Bills managed only six points. Jackson fumbled inside the 20 to stall one drive on a day in which the Bills rushed for only 61 yards one week after piling up a season-best 232 yards against Jacksonville.

So the Bills are 5-8, not only guaranteed of another non-winning season but a 13th straight season of missing the playoffs. Gailey's tenure with the Bills should come to an end in three weeks.
