The Bills are a mess on both sides of the ball. A team that has not reached the playoffs in 12 years has reached the abyss. Has the franchise hit rock bottom? The Bills Sunday against the 49ers were outgained by 417 yards, the most in team history. The Niners scored 42 straight points enroute to a 45-3 win.
The Bills allowed a team-record 621 total yards, including 311 rushing yards, the third most in team history. It was the first time in NFL history a team allowed a 300-yard passer and 300 yards rushing.
Combined with the 580 yards allowed last week, the Bills have given up 1,201 yards in two games, the most in back-to-back games since the 1950 New York Yanks gave up 1,227.
The Bills (2-3) have lost three games by a combined 86 points. They are giving up 35.2 points a game. The defensive front in getting pushed around, the linebackers are slight and corner Aaron Williams looks lost. And right now Stephon Gilmore couldn't guard me. Offensively Ryan Fitzpatrick is just awful. Why the Bills have not drafted a qb other than Levi Brown is the last three years is a mystery.
After the game, Bills coach Chan Gailey took the blame for not having his players prepared. When a team loses as bad as it did on Sunday, its an indictment on the staff and players.
