This weekend the Bills play the first of a two-game west coast trip starting Sunday at San Francisco. The 49ers defense features the best front seven in football. The 49ers rank fifth against the run, yielding 79.5 yards per game. San Francisco has allowed just one 100-yard rusher in its last 44 games.
The Niners led the NFL in run defense in 2011, yielding only 77.3 yards per game. They allowed just three rushing TDs all last season. The Bills will play without two starting offensive lineman Cordy Glenn and Craig Urbik because of injuries.
Defensively the Bills were torched in the second half against New England. If you thought the Pats ran all over the Bills, the 49ers are one the best running teams in the NFL.
Mario Williams is blaming a sore left wrist for his poor play through the first four weeks. The 100-million dollar man has only 9 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. The Bills were pushed around by the Pats. The defense needs to stop the run, while establishing a running game to have any chance of winning. I do think thee Bills keep the game close but in the end the Niners are no San Francisco treat. San Francisco 33 Buffalo 20
The Bills visit Arizona next Sunday before hosting Tennessee.
